It certainly reflects my preferences. [disclaimer: the following is my personal opinion. I do not claim that anyone else thinks this way, or that they should]. What has kept me so far in ruby is that it's a _nice_ language. It makes sense. There are no surprises. I can think of a problem, and a non-convoluted way of solving it in Ruby. Which is perhaps why it's (apparently) so loved.
