I'm finding the thread very interesting, and I wouldn't worry about
abusing the list as this debate is contained solely within the "101
Misconceptions" subject line.

It would be far more of a problem if you, or someone else, injected
anti-Ruby comments in every thread. This is what happens in some
other newsgroups and it does cause a huge problem. This isn't the
case here.

I vote for continuing this thread as I'm learning a lot about Ruby,
C++, and programming in general. There's information to be found in
comparing and contrasting approaches, which by necessity examines
the downsides as well as the upsides.
