Just to note there's already something useful (kind of) done with dynamically generated flash: http://kolumbus.fi/yhteiso/ I'm sorry to say it's all in Finnish (at least I can't find English button anywhere) and to log in you need to fill a form to get password (as a SMS). I sent a link to give you a feeling how Hotelli Kultakala (Hotel Golden Fish) looks like (the small images). The idea is simple: a semi virtual reality chatting service. You have a character and can walk next to other people and chat with them (there's no log; the text comes as a speech bubble and scrolls away). If there's someone in small distance you "hear" only some words of their discussion. The money is made with SMS. There's matching (pairing, friend finding) service where you can fill questionaire and see how good matches the people around would be. You can have your own room in the hotel, which you can decorate to your style, and get interesting people to visit there (who knows, you might even get laid :). My friend said the underlying engine was something called Mobile Disco, but I couldn't find anything about it from the web. Nevertheless, I hadn't any good use for Flash two days ago, yesterday I heard about and saw Hotelli Kultakala, and today Dave comes up with Ruby wrappers... What a crazy but very enjoyable world... === Um... I actually wrote the mail at the morning, but wanted to fill in the details. I guess I'm mixing up concepts here. I don't even know the difference between Flash and Shockwave and can't figure out from the Macromedia site in ten minutes. - Aleksi
