I could see a few use cases for it, but I don't think it's as important to 
have a common native format for specifications as it is to just have the 
ability to easily convert one to the other (which shouldn't be difficult).  
It definitely makes sense to see which metadata exists in the various 
spec formats to see if we're missing something.
