my first tk expierience was with perl/tk. i tackled tcl/tk for the
'cleaner' tk experience...

i got to the point where i knew tk well enough that it was a much easier
choice for gui programming in python (with tkinter) AND it was one of the
things that made it easier for me to decide that ruby was my next language.

i think that anybody used to perl/tk or tkinter (whether they liked the
code 'look' or not) will find that ruby/tk is just a matter of learning a
slightly different syntax.

semi related question:

i haven't actually installed the windows version of ruby yet, but does it
include the ncurses stuff without needing recompiling?
