And don't take this as me being negative. I just don't want to jump the 
gun and tell the world we're ready to do something, only to disappoint 
them. I'd rather underplay a string hand than get called on a weak
one.

Absolutely not. My original point (badly made) was that it _is_
possible to build sophisticated GUIs with Ruby. SourceNavigator was
just an example: it uses Tk and that power is available to Ruby too.
