It's a bit like Jini, though, in that developers
like it and build applications with it, but it's
showing up in ZERO of the shrinkwrapped packages
that are supposed to justify it. Without that
marketplace action, is there any reason to favor
SOAP over xmlrpc?

'Bout a week after SOAP becomes popular, I expect
a firewall manufacturer to start selling an HTTP
proxy that filters out SOAP at the app level. Its
insecurity will drive corporate managers wild.
