If it's in the distro that makes it easier for people to give it a try. However, I found that downloading and compiling the source under Linux was quite easy. I believe RedHat began shipping Python because some of their configureation apps were written in it. Write some good Linux configuration apps in Ruby and it will make it more likely that more distros include it. Or, somehow tie it in with Gnome or KDE configuration. Phil
