It was because that DLDFLAGS includes LDFLAGS for ruby itself was troublesome, but I'd change: * DLDFLAGS in Makefile includes $LDFLAGS again, * $LDFLAGS isn't defaulted to LDFLAGS for ruby * but $DLDFLAGS is defaulted to DLDFLAGS.
