Did you even bother to read my post?
I said that I understand how people might not like the GPL, and that 
whether the like it is not the issue I am discussing.

GPL code imposes a condition upon its use that some people don't like.  
Fine.  But you are not forced to use the GPL code, hence it is not viral.
