I have ...ROOT\.rb\rb\ShellNew with some random default value in it that says "value not set". I'm reluctant to modify the registry until I back it up and read the Black Registry Book again. Do you know whether I can just add shell\open etc or whether I have to get rid of the other stuff? I'm going semiOK without, as I have found that I can run Ruby under Textpad and capture things, and of course RubyWin isn't bad (except for that bad idea on double-click), so I'm proceeding well. Just confused by the odd registry setup. Thanks to all. Still listening ... Ron Ronald E Jeffries http://www.XProgramming.com http://www.objectmentor.com
