i want to get ruby-gd ( http://raa.ruby-lang.org/list.rhtml?name=ruby-gd )
to work on my windows pc.

things i have:
all .dll's needed to execute gddemo.exe (gd library installed)
the ruby-gd source

when i understand correctly, i should execute extconf.rb to install ruby-gd
when i do so, it says:
checking for main() in -lz... no.

ruby pp-installer 1.6.8-8
windows xp - sp 1

i tried to compile all the libraries (gd, libpng, zlib, etc...) myself with
mingw32 but i failed due to my poor knowledge of linux-things (i don't
know - makefiles is the problem, i guess)... so i just used binaries i found
on sourceforge...

and they call our school "computer science". HA! i don't even know how to do
this basic things...

any help 'd be much apprecciated,
