Well, FWIW, my WIn98SE doesn't crash. And I don't think my system is 
especially stable, as it hangs on the average of once every 18 hours.

What happens for me is that the window hangs.

Are you using the full Cygwin environment? 'Cause I'm just using the
single DLL.
