Hi

Is there any secret to getting socket to compile on OS X?
I have built ruby but socket did not make a .bundle. I
was able to copy the socket.bundle from an older install
and use that, but it bothers me that I couldn't get it
to install.

Also, a more general question, how does one get the extensions
to build explicitly. Doing the following doesn't seem to 
work in general:

  cd ext/<ext_to_compile>
  ruby extconf.rb
  make
