At RubyConf, a few Northwesterners got together to talk about doing another regional codefest. There seemed to be enough interest to make it worthwhile, so here's a kickoff message/invitation. We'd like to get together one Saturday in January in Seattle (exact date and place TBD). Some of the Seattle.rb folks are doing language audits, comparing other languages to Ruby and looking for features Ruby could use. We'll discuss these audits, compile a list of good features to implement, write up stories, then meet together in January to implement them. I've set up a mailing list to do all the coordination work on, if you're interested please sign up at janhackfest-subscribe / kohalabs.com -- you're welcome to lurk too. Hopefully, we'll find some neat new toys to make available to the ruby crowd. -pate Pat Eyler Kaitiaki/manager migrant Linux sys admin the Koha project ruby, shell, and perl geek http://www.koha.org http://pate.eylerfamily.org
