When I try to compile Ruby 1.6.1, I get the following error:

gcc -O3 -mathlon -march=athlon -mcpu=athlon -I. -I.
-I/usr/local/include -c main.cgcc -O3 -mathlon -march=athlon
-mcpu=athlon -rdynamic main.o dmyext.o libruby.a -ldl
-lcrypt -lm -o miniruby
./mkconfig.rb:126: [BUG] Segmentation fault
ruby 1.6.1 (2000-09-27) [i686-linux]
make: *** [rbconfig.rb] Aborted (core dumped)
[root@localhost ruby-1.6.1]#

You can see the flags I'm using, and those are achieved with
the help of AthlonGCC ( http://athlonlinux.org -- Latest
stable release). This is a Mandrake 7.1 system.

Any suggestions on fixing this?

BTW, please CC a reply to the reply-to address (but remove
the "X").
