Version 3.1.0 includes the scrypt sequential memory-hard password hashing
function, a.k.a. one of the best password hashing functions presently
available. Unlike most other password hashing functions, scrypt introduces
a memory cost which makes its password hashes harder to crack.

Together with libsodium, RbNaCl provides one of the most cross-platform and
cross-VM ways to add scrypt to your Ruby code. RbNaCl supports JRuby too!

gem, which vendors and compiles libsodium for you:
