Did the OP provide any context for the problem, other than Pi, 1/3, Infinity, 0.1 are just approximations in the computer world?

The floating point capability on modern low-end hardware is exceptionally fantastic.

One of the most important performance metrics is generally considered to be floating point operations per second.

Finally, keep in mind many of the people involved in designing and implementing these standards are smarter than you ;-)
