hi, i get this problem when running demo.rb straight out of the package

$ ruby demo.rb
Read images...
ruby: null.c:103: ReadNULLImage: Assertion `exception->signature ==
0xabacadab' failed.
Aborted

can anyone throw any light on this?  i am using it on a debian/sid
system with rubymagick installed using apt-get (debian package
management) this might be a known problem in the version i've got
installed (see below) in which case someone should get onto the debian
package maintainers to sort it out.
