The OOPSLA will take place by  November 4th. in Seattle,

and it looks like the November 1st. is the current *tentative*
date for the RubyConf, just before the OOPSLA, so that
people can attend both conferences easily.

There's also the #rubyconf  channel on  irc.openprojects.org for
RubyConf-related discussion.
