I think what he meant was (@start + @duration).  Ie, he wants the sum
to evaluate to an object of type Time.  I would have said it already does,
assuming @start is a Time ... and assuming the Time#+ returns a Time,
hence no "cast" should be necessary.  Or have I misunderstood? Perhaps
the issue is really just that he's put it in a string.
