Hi all!

JRuby is a pure Java implementation of the Ruby interpreter.

JRuby supports all Ruby 1.6.6 language constructs and a lot of the builtin
classes and methods.

It is very easy to integrate JRuby in your Java application to add
Ruby Scripting support to your Java application and to access Java
classes from a Ruby script.

JRuby is avaiable at http://jruby.sf.net.

Thanks to all the people which support JRuby and helped to create this release.

There are a lot of new features in the new version:

 - Improve Javasupport. Add support for public fields.
 - Add exception and initialize methods to the Exception class
 - added delete method to File class, throws exception when file does not exists
 - Add shift method to Hash
 - Add ==, keys, values, each, has_key?, has_value? methods to Hash
 - Add global caller, throw, catch function
 - Add backtrace support to Excpetion.
 - Add eof? to IO class
 - Add implementation of Struct class
 - Add global functions block_given?, chomp, chop, gsup, sub, loop, scan, strip, lambda, eval, local_variables
 - Add global eval function
 - Add $! global variable
 - Add global gets method. Add $FILENAME, $< global variables
 - Add File class. Add IO.close method. Add File::new and File::open methods
 - Implement gets, lineno, lineno=, sync, sync= methods in IO. Add global $_, $/
 - Implement security features.
 - Add $SAFE variable.
 - Add Regexp adapter for ORO (Patch #500315).
 - Add $stdin, $stdout global variables.
 - Add methods new, initialize, write and << to IOClass.
 - Start to implement IO class, add IOError and EOFError.
 - If a Java class is loaded in JRuby also the super classes will be loaded
