How do you 'instal X from the dev tools'?

On the Mac OS X Install Disc 1, there are these files(among others):

/Volumes/Mac OS X Install Disc 1/Xcode Tools/Packages/DeveloperTools.pkg

/Volumes/Mac OS X Install Disc 1/Xcode Tools/Packages/X11SDK.pkg
