Seriously, running scripting languages (tried perl, python and ruby) in
win32 is always a hassle...

good idea!

This way, we'll see what new problems are introduced.

Perhaps it would make sense to make it easy to have both versions 
installed, one can switch to the cygwin version if there are problems in

the MsWin32, and vice versa.

Perhaps, after a while, someone will find a solution with less
drawbacks.
