thank you for responding.
I have updated both rubyscript2exe and tar2rubyscript, but am still stuck  
(as you predicted).
However, in the small script I sent you, I actually don't use any  
dependencies, 
just ruby, to ask for a string, and repeat it ( this is the simplest  program 
that's more
complicated than just printing out "hello world" I could think of.)
 
All the architectures I was running the executable on are i386/i586, and  for 
the moment,
I'd be happy with these.
How can I nevertheless make the software run?
