I'm probably just stupid here, but I didn't find any match
with http://blade.nagaokaut.ac.jp/ruby/ruby-talk/index.shtml
and the search box with regexp for latest 1000. My regexp was 'rescue'.
Searching with eyes reveals at least messages 1728, 1729, 1730, 1740, 
1741, 1747 and 1748.

Searching with (namazu) seem to work (returns 340 documents), and so 
does subject search (maybe, returns only one).

Is normal regexp search working well?
