I've spent an hour or more checking numerous docs and the FAQ with no luck
getting an answer.

In my test code, I have:

       require 'gtk'

Yet, ruby can't find the libs. Gtk is installed, and my 'C' compiler has no
trouble finding and using the libs.

   [mjbjr@localhost ruby_work]$ ./helloworld_01.rb
   =2E/helloworld_01.rb:8:in `require': No such file to load -- /usr/lib/gtk
   +(LoadError)
           from ./helloworld_01.rb:8

The libs: libgtk, libgdk are in /usr/lib

I tried: require '/usr/lib/gtk', and variations including specifying the
path and libname, but the results were the same.

The result above was with: require 'gtk'

How do you get your ruby apps to find your libs?

   Thank you.
