With
$ CFLAGS='-hnovector,1 -DSIGVTALRM=28'
$ export CFLAGS
$ ./configure --without-gcc
$ make

you can build a miniruby. However, the minruby dumps core upon
execution:
(dbx) t
   0 _start(0x1, 0x8000000220, 0x8000000230) at 0x400000400

The many, many warnings about arguments being incompatible with
prototypes, improper integer precision, integer overflow detected,
and assignment type mismatch indicate where this comes from.

It is a pity, since I would like to see Ruby on as many platforms
as possible.
