DataVision is a database reporting tool similar to Crystal Reports, written
in Ruby. Multiple database backends (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, ODBC) and
front ends (LaTeX (therefore PDF, etc.), XML, comma- and tab-separated data
files, DocBook, and HTML) are supported.
DataVision uses XML files to describe reports. Reports can both load and
save XML report files.
The beginnings of a GUI are slowly appearing.
Changes in version 0.0.2:
* Can now handle data with embedded newlines.
* The LaTeX layout engine wraps long values within the bounds of the
field.
* When writing reports to XML, save the database host and port.
* Sections can now cause a page break before themselves, after, or
both.
* The beginnings of a GUI.
