In trying to learn ruby I've been going through the book.

In the interntet program that uses strings on page 113, the program works
just fine if I am using windows 98. On another computer, the one I use all
the time running windows 2000 professional , the program crashes with the
following message.

/cygdrive/c/RUBY/lib/ruby/1.6/net/protocal.rb"445 in 'new' invalid argument
"connect(2)" (ERRNO::EINVAL)
from p113.rb: 23 in 'join'
from p113.rb 23
from p113.rb:23 in 'each'
from p113.rb.23

Any ideas for a fix?

Thanks
