<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; I used Python at work for two years. After testing Ruby I had migrated
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; to Ruby completeley. My coworkers followed me.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;You are not minority of Ruby users.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;There is a interesting result of RubyGarden pull.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;http://www.rubygarden.org/pollBooth.php?op=results&amp;pollID=5
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;About 40% of voter (= Ruby user, maybe) have already known Python
<DIV></DIV>&gt;and use it (if they couldn't use Ruby). In other words,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;they use Ruby, although they have skills to use Python.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Ruby is "Programmers' Best Friend" (as http://www.ruby-lang.org/ ),
<DIV></DIV>&gt;even if they are Python programmers :-)
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;By the way...
<DIV></DIV>&gt;IMHO, it seems that Pythoneers say 'Hmm. Ruby is not better
<DIV></DIV>&gt;than Python, but it is useful for Perl user', while Perl guys
<DIV></DIV>&gt;say 'Ruby is not more attractive than Perl, but it is a good
<DIV></DIV>&gt;alternative of Python (or Smalltalk).'
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Of cource, Smalltalkers seems to say 'Ruby is not the alternative
<DIV></DIV>&gt;of Smalltalk, but it seems better than Perl or Python.'
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;It's interesting, isn't it? :-)
<DIV></DIV>&gt;

<DIV></DIV>&gt;Regards,

<P>You are lucky.</P>
<P>I do not have the privilege to use either Python or Ruby at work, your management&nbsp;may not be&nbsp;watching you. I have to use what admin loaded on&nbsp;the Unix box, and now they are still Perl, Tcl/Tk and Expect. Whenever I mention Python or Ruby, the answer is :"Oh yeah, what about Javascript, PHP, and Lua. Do you want to try them also?"</P>
