I'm trying to track down these various message threading problems, and
I'm coming to the conclusion that it isn't the gateway's
fault. However, I'd appreciate any assistance in understanding this.

Take messages 19444 and 19445. 19444 was posted to comp.lang.ruby and
gatewayed through to the mailing list. The Message-ID in the header is
the same on both the newsgroup and in the mailing list message.

The response 19445 was sent in via the mailing list. It has no
'references' or 'in-reply-to' header. In fact it has no reference that
I can see to the original article.

Is this an MUA problem, or is the gateway stripping out some other
field that the MUA needs to do the linking?
