may be Win specific.

Is it possible to say "there is no webserver at that domain" in the case
of erroneous or nonexistent localhosts *and* remote hosts?
2.
Can you change the bahaviour that nil means localhost?
I think: 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1' means localhost
         nil means 'no domain' -> can't connect to nil
