Hi

If ruby "wins the race" (if there is a race...), we all win

If phyton "wins the race", we win too

And (even?) if perl wins, we win too

The only _real_ way to loose, is if some propritary, closed_source (and far
less elegent IMHO than at least ruby & phyton) language like C# wins.

There will be always more than one language. There will even be more than
one language for _some_ particular purpose. Different programmes have a
different taste, and will therefore like different languages more than
others. This has nothing to do with "better", or more "elegent".

I think we should stop tellings each other why one language is better than
the other, and instead focus on improving _all_ the languages.

Maybe, one day, perl, phyton & ruby will even run on the same, unified
runtime engine, and we will not really chose the language, but rather the
syntax we prefer.

greetings, Florian Pflug
