So, what's the recommended course of action for me to take? I've been tinkering and trying to get it to build for about 20 hours now... (That's excluding sleeping time.) I'm no closer than when I started. I'd really like to use ruby for this project, but it's already taken me 10 times longer to try to just build it than it would have to have written this in perl. I was allocating extra time since I don't know ruby yet, but this is ridiculous! ;)

Anyway, does ruby depend on any libraries? If so, it may be freeBSD's linker, since it gave me fits earlier with another piece of software. But I don't quite see where the dependencies are.

Any help in this is greatly appreciated. Ruby's intrigued me since I found out about it. Now that I have a chance to actually learn it, I want to. ;)
