I think the RFD can run for up to 60 days; 21 days was the _minimum_ elapsed time required before requesting a CFV (call for votes). However I am also requirred to fill out a questionaire pertaining to RFD issues and responses something like a week prior to requesting a CFV. (For some reason I would like to wait until around March 9 before getting into that paperwork.) I probably should (and probably will in a few minutes) also repost the RFD on comp.lang.perl.misc, comp.lang.java.programmer, and comp.lang.python (with a preface directing Ruby language inquiries/discussions here). If you think it is a good idea for attracting new Ruby users and thus potential yes votes, you might want to do likewise on various other suitable comp.lang newsgroups. Conrad
