I think the RFD can run for up to 60 days; 21 days was the _minimum_ elapsed
time required before requesting a CFV (call for votes). However I am also
requirred to fill out a questionaire pertaining to RFD issues and responses
something like a week prior to requesting a CFV. (For some reason I would
like to wait until around March 9 before getting into that paperwork.)

I probably should (and probably will in a few minutes) also repost the RFD
on comp.lang.perl.misc, comp.lang.java.programmer, and comp.lang.python
(with a preface directing Ruby language inquiries/discussions here).

If you think it is a good idea for attracting new Ruby users and thus
potential yes votes, you might want to do likewise on various other suitable
comp.lang newsgroups.
