Hi,

I released rb2c-0.6.1, a Ruby-to-C translator. It's confirmed on
i686-Linux, and will work on Windows with cygwin/mswin C compiler.

rb2c-0.6.1 is working beta for rb2c-1.4, based on ruby-1.4. Any
comments, suggestions and patches are welcome.

Technically, it's an abstract interpreter of Ruby's syntax-tree. It
scans the syntax-tree, and produce the C code, that is expanded eval
loop. Say, you can get application specific ruby-interpreter.
Eventually:

  * You can get scripts run a little bit faster.
  * Compile and link produced code, and you'll get only one executable.

OTOH,

  * It's less reliable than the ruby interpreter.

Enjoy it.

Thanks,
hiwada
