In order to access your C/C++ from Ruby, you may be able to generate
wrappers automatically using SWIG. This will same you some time.

Then, when it comes time to do the testing, I think you'll want to
have a look at RubyUnit or Lapidary, both fine test runners in the
SUNIT/JUnit tradition.
