Hi all, I've suggested by Forrest Cahoon <forrest / pconline.com>, like following. What do you guys think about this? ------- Start of forwarded message ------- From: Forrest Cahoon <forrest / pconline.com> Subject: Popularizing Ruby outside of Japan To: matz / netlab.co.jp Date: Sat, 5 Feb 100 21:39:02 -0600 (CST) Hello Matz! (personal message and complain about python indentation snipped) I believe it would be a very good idea to make a concerted effort to popularize Ruby outside of Japan -- a P/R campaign. I have a few ideas how to do this: 1) Move your source archive over to http://sourceforge.net/. Sponsored by VA Linux Systems, who now has incredible resources, this may soon prove to be _the_ place where developers and projects find each other. (This would incidentally mean that you wouldn't have to worry about maintaining servers. 2) Put out an "urgent call" for non-Japanese developers. Try to get the story on Slashdot. Since VA Linux Systems just acquired Andover (and thus Slashdot), this may be more successful in conjunction with (1). I am sure there is more. I will be glad to help in this endeavor if you're interested in persuing it. While I would rather be programming than writing, I do have the skill in the English language to write this sort of "advertising". Please let me know if you are interested.
