It is unfortunate that your wording was misunderstood, and that
licensing has become such an emotional issue, but I believe you are on
the right track.

Another license to consider is the LGPL (The library or "lesser" GPL).
Although the FSF is backing away from the LGPL, the LGPL was designed
for libraries and the adoption of library code.
