That would be a great development, but the more general problem would
still remain. This has been discussed here before. A quick summary:
this issue has to do with deployment and the advantages of the
developer and user communities being able to rely of a fairly broad
lowest common denominator. That's why there has been much discussion
and pushing for very substantially expanded Perl6 and Tcl/Tk
distributions (even though Perl6 will still have CPAN).
