Just a couple of quick thoughts: 1) There was a window manager written in Python (whose name escapes me at the moment) but it was *SLOW*... in fact, I never did get it to work correctly. Part of the reason was that all interaction was done through Python/Qt bindings with the modules written in Python. I imagine that the speed would be increased greatly if the core engine of the WM was written in Ruby/C instead of plain ruby scripts. 2) It's a great idea since Ruby lends itself to nearly any task. Count me in if you decide to move forward. -- Glen _____________________________ Keep in mind that the Fates are kind if you let them be so --Saltine
