With Inline it is easier to extend Perl with C than it is to extend Ruby with C. The fact that you can also extend Perl with multiple other languages (C++, Python, more to come) is just icing on the cake. Literally just drop the C code directly into the script, and leave deciding when to recompile and how to link up to Inline.
