I just reread a good old article, "The Selfish Class", by Brian Foote and Joseph Yoder. article link: http://www.joeyoder.com/papers/patterns/Selfish/selfish.html Its a design pattern inspired by darwinism. There are comparisons between how nature gains success and survives. In fact with simple means my own packages can be improved a lot. I believe others may find lots of inspiration too. I have been browsing many projects at rubyforge.. there are lots of violations of the selfish class: * only few projects has a homepage. * few distributes both zip, tgz, gem. Looking at RAA, I find entries which are no longer uptodate, which has unclear project description.. etc. It would help everybody if project owners read this article. -- Simon Strandgaard
