|On Solaris you have to link against -lsunmath to make this work.  Even then, 
|you'll get a warning about an implicit declaration unless you explicitly 
|include sunmath.h, which is only included as part of the Sun developer suite, 
|not under /usr/include.

In that case, configure should have used replacement implementation
under missing directory.  Can you show us your config.h and output
from config.guess.
