I've no problem to provide patches, but before I provide patches, I like 
to clarify that the rule/problem is accepted from the team, thus patches 
will be accepted, too.

Although: those multi-file refactorings should be done:
   * from long-term-contributing developers
   * on a 'freezed weekend' (no other CVS-commit activities)

Process:
   * detect functions to refactor
   * increase compiler type-checking where possible
     * catches problems during adaption-phase
   * list all changes
   * await a 'quite-stable' CVS status
   * apply changes
