 Well, personnaly I think that methods which use a thread *must* test if this
 thread is alive, i.e. replace rb_thread_check() with
 rb_thread_check_alive() except when ruby can handle this case like in 
 rb_thread_join_m(), rb_thread_check(), ...

 I don't see a good reason to use a dead thread, for example, to call
 rb_thread_keys(), rb_thread_inspect(), etc
