I'm not sure what you mean by this.  We have wait and wait2 - why not
wait3?  Or did you mean something else?

I tested on Solaris 2.9 and it looks like it's defined on 2.6 and later,
but not earlier versions.  So, I guess a 'have_func' is in order or some
configure tweaking.
