According to 'tweets' there has been the rumor that Ruby-core do not
migrate to Git due lack of Windows support.

I must say that is completely inaccurate.

Git support has been excellent using msysGit releases, even with
integrated git-svn support.

Projects like rake-compiler and RubyInstaller uses Git and GitHub as
SCM and contribution platform, something we couldn't achieve using
Subversion.

In my humble opinion, the move to Git will highly increase the options
for people wanting to contribute to Ruby.
