Issue #2033 has been updated by Yui NARUSE. Some commiter of Ruby live on Windows. And windows port of git, msysgit, is still preview (cygwin port is not acceptable). So we can't move to git. those benefits seem to be resolved by shyouhei's ruby in github. If you fork his and publish your patch, we can take it.
